{31 Days to a Functional Kitchen} Day 6: Under the Sink Storage

That cabinet space under the kitchen sink is often a scary space.  Dark. Damp. Maybe even a bit stinky.  One doesn't dare storing anything edible down there as there is a high likelihood of leaks due to the plumbing pipes that cut up the space.  Henceforth, this space has been designated for cleaning products and even the trash can in most kitchens.

In researching how to make this space function better I learned a few things that can help you maximize this space.  First, only keep the essentials and second, use simple storage solutions to keep it organized.  Here are a few great examples of simple solutions with beautiful results.

Each cabinet/space should have a designated function.
Keep only those items are used regularly or serve a specific purpose. 
Group items into containers for easy access and organization.

Assignment:  Look at what is under your kitchen sink.  Declutter, toss and consolidate.  Additionally, move items that are not used in the kitchen.
Find a storage/organization solution that fits your needs and budget.
