{31 Days to a Functional Kitchen} Day 6: Under the Sink Storage

That cabinet space under the kitchen sink is often a scary space.  Dark. Damp. Maybe even a bit stinky.  One doesn't dare storing anything edible down there as there is a high likelihood of leaks due to the plumbing pipes that cut up the space.  Henceforth, this space has been designated for cleaning products and even the trash can in most kitchens.

In researching how to make this space function better I learned a few things that can help you maximize this space.  First, only keep the essentials and second, use simple storage solutions to keep it organized.  Here are a few great examples of simple solutions with beautiful results.

I love the on-the-door storage, shelving and cleaning caddy.

The tension rod and inexpensive baskets are a great solution.

This is a bathroom but the DIY shelf and drawers are awesome.

I also wanted to share a few organizing solutions that I found at a couple of on-line stores...

  1. I bought some cheapie peel and stick laminate and plan on "tiling" under each sink in the house.
